If you don’t have a library card then you can drop into your nearest public library to obtain one. Your library card number and unique password are required to start borrowing materials through OverDrive/Libby. Next you need to setup a password for your Library Account. The first step in accessing OverDrive or Libby is to have a library card from a WI library. Libby is newer, and doesn’t yet have all of the features that the OverDrive app does, such as the ability to recommend titles for purchase or robust accessibility features. It also allows for transfer to e-readers and MP3 players from computers. OverDrive is the “classic” app, and is compatible with more devices, including Kindle Fire and Windows mobile devices. Libby is great if you just want to download a book to your Android or iOS phone or tablet. Libby is compatible with Android and iOS (Apple) devices and can be used in the browser on computers and tablets. If you have an iOS device, go the Apple App. Set up your mobile device or computer with Libby. Libby is a newer app released by OverDrive that offers the same collection of titles as OverDrive, offering a fast and attractive digital browsing experience. The software and apps are provided by the OverDrive company. OverDrive, Inc, is the platform used by most public libraries to allow their patrons to access eBooks, eAudiobooks and even videos.
